What to do if you can't write a song?

Listen instead of talking for a day. You might want to do this when no one else is home. Or at least keep the volume low. It will definitely make your friends ask if everything is OK.

In the worst case scenario, you don't write it and add another song to the editing room for your album. I write random rows of thoughts from time to time, but they're so chaotic that I can't turn them into a song. That's why making sure you have the right sounds is always important when writing the music you want to write. Or if it helps, I've tried so many times without success, that I just want to write a satisfying song.

In the depths of my worst writing block, I've wondered if I might not really want to write songs. I just write it and then write it again in a different way, and I keep doing it until I have a proper way of expressing what I want. It's not uncommon to write a chorus that you love, but it's hard for you to write verses that go with it (or vice versa). I'm simply trying to convince myself that you don't have to enjoy the process of writing songs to be a composer.

If you're looking for a piece of equipment or a new studio toy that you want, tell yourself that you have to write 5 songs before you even think about buying it.
